We are seeking a technically driven Network Engineer with PON Expertise to participate in the PON Integration efforts within our internal expert group. This role centres on designing, testing, and deploying Icotera ONT solutions across various OLT platforms, ensuring seamless interoperability, optimal performance, and alignment with strategic network goals. The ideal candidate will bring deep PON protocol knowledge, hands-on experience with OMCI configurations, and advanced troubleshooting capabilities to strengthen and support our internal engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in PON systems integration, telecom network testing or a similar technical domain
• Hands-on experience with ONT/OLT configuration and validation
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Prior experience acting as a technical lead or subject matter expert is a strong plus
• In-depth knowledge of PON technologies (GPON, XGS-PON, etc.)
• Strong understanding of OMCI protocol and PON management
• Proficient in network troubleshooting and packet-level analysis
• Knowledge of networking protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLAN, QoS, etc.)
• Familiarity with lab equipment and testing tools for performance benchmarking and configuration validation
• Ability to conduct deep-dive technical investigations
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills
• Comfortable communicating technical details with cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, Product)

Responsibilities

• Work on interoperability validation of Icotera ONTs with a broad range of third-party OLTs.
• Deep-dive analysis of OMCI configurations and PON management behaviour.
• Develop, refine, and maintain internal PON integration guidelines and best practices.
• Utilise TraceSpan or equivalent PON analysers for protocol-level inspection and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with R&D, QA, and product management to ensure smooth feature rollout and alignment with the integration strategy.
• Support lab environments for regression testing, configuration validation, and performance benchmarking.
• Author internal documentation and support knowledge transfer within the company.
• Conduct engineering alignment calls between cooperating parties, coordinating PON products integration in the customer's network.
