Head of Finance

The Finance Director will be responsible for managing and enhancing the financial health of our business. This role involves strategic financial planning, financial reporting, cost management, and developing key relationships with banks and financial institutions. You will collaborate closely with other departments to support business growth and ensure that financial strategies align with overall company objectives.

Wymagania

A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Fluency in English and Polish (both written and spoken) is required, German will be an advantage
Prior experience in the retail industry, preferably within the food or consumer goods sectors
Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards
Extensive experience in leading and developing finance teams, with a proven track record of managing diverse teams in a fast-paced environment
High proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel
Experience in managing relationships with banks and financial institutions
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings with strong cross-functional
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
High energy, hands-on, and eye for details while keeping a strategic perspective

Obowiązki

Creating and executing financial strategies, objectives, and policies that support the company's growth and profitability through monitoring and analyzing financial performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions
Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring they support the company’s activities and market dynamics
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards
Oversee the preparation of monthly accounting reporting data
Manage month-end processes to ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
Work with the procurement, logistics, and planning teams to optimize supply chain costs and improve overall efficiency
Oversee banking relationships, including negotiations for credit lines, trade financing, and other banking services
Build and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure favorable financing terms for trade transactions
Oversee the negotiation and management of trade finance instruments, such as letters of credit, guarantees, and other forms of credit facilities
Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to support the company’s financial goals
Participate in key business decisions, offering financial perspectives on new initiatives, market expansion, and supplier negotiations
Manage relationships with investors and stakeholders, providing regular updates on financial performance and business strategy
Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and annual finance reports and analyses (e.g. P&Ls, optimization plans, and financial assessments of new business initiatives)
Monitoring and control of cash flow and liquidity
