As a Data Engineer in our vibrant startup, you will be instrumental in building robust data infrastructure, enabling seamless data collection, processing, and analysis. Your expertise will play a critical role in driving actionable insights and empowering our innovative projects.

Tensorflight is a Polish  insurtech  startup  that is revolutionizing  the insurance industry. 

We are developing an AI building inspector and give underwriters and insurers access to rich and accurate datasets for commercial property to create better insurance products. We automate inspections of commercial, residential and industrial buildings using aerial, satellite, and ground-level imagery. Our system combines derived data with geospatial information and public records to unlock valuable insight about buildings and properties such as replacement value, construction type, or roof characteristics.

Requirements


Education and Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, handling large-scale data processing.

  • 2+ years of experience in a Google Cloud environment.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Spark, optionally Apache Beam, or similar technologies.

  • Familiarity with Postgres and strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases. High proficiency in SQL.

  • Proficiency in Python programming.

  • Knowledge of data governance practices, data security, and privacy regulations.

  • Additional Skills:

    • Experience working with geospatial data is highly desirable.

    • Familiarity with BigQuery is a plus.

    • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Grafana, CI/CD is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach, and excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.

Responsibilities


  • Implement and enforce best practices in data engineering, focusing on data integrity, quality, and security. Maintain comprehensive documentation and uphold data governance standards.

  • Build and own scalable data pipelines and database schemas for ingesting, processing, and storing various data types. Develop integration workflows and ETL processes to transform raw data into actionable formats.

  • Responsible for data exports to BigQuery and data pipelines for exporting large datasets for the ML team.

  • Collaborate closely with the ML team, software engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

  • Optimize and fine-tune data systems for high performance, reliability, and scalability on GCP.

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for data-related projects, demonstrating independence and adaptability in meeting various data needs.
