Compositing Supervisor - Gran Canaria

Platige Image is seeking an experienced Compositing Supervisor with a passion for visual storytelling and a keen eye for detail. As a Compositing Supervisor, you will oversee the compositing process, ensuring the highest technical and artistic standards are met across all projects. You will collaborate closely with Directors, VFX Supervisors, and the production team to interpret creative visions while adhering to project timelines and budget constraints. The project is planned to start in January and we are looking for candidates located in or willing to relocate to Gran Canaria as well as cooperate on a B2B contract. 





DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES IN A NUTSHELL


  • Supervise the compositing team to deliver visually stunning and seamless final images.

  • Review and approve shots, ensuring they meet technical and artistic standards.

  • Work closely with the VFX Supervisor and Director to understand and interpret the creative vision for the project.

  • Collaborate with production to develop schedules, milestones, and resource plans.

  • Provide clear and constructive feedback to Artists, helping them achieve the desired look.

  • Ensure seamless integration of live-action, CGI, and other visual elements.

  • Solve complex compositing challenges, offering creative solutions.

  • Maintain consistent quality across all shots and sequences.

  • Support Producers in client communication and presentations.


 

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum of 6 years experience in a senior compositing role, with at least 2 years as a Compositing Lead or Supervisor.

  • Extensive knowledge of the compositing process and strong proficiency in Nuke.

  • Experience with integrating 2D and 3D elements, color grading, rotoscoping, and other advanced compositing techniques.

  • Solid understanding of VFX and CG disciplines, including modeling, rendering, animation, and lighting.

  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of Artists.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

  • Collaborative work ethic with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

  • Fluent English is essential.



ADDITIONALLY SCORED


  • Experience with project management tools like SHOTGRID.

  • A strong artistic eye and attention to detail.

  • Experience in providing creative and technical direction.

  • knowledge of Maya and basic Nuke Python scripting skills.

  • Deep understanding of all aspects of 3D and VFX pipeline steps.

  • A portfolio of traditional arts (painting, drawing, photography, filmmaking) and strong camera layout skills.
