Platige Image is looking for an Animation Project Lead with proven experience in motion capture and MetaHuman pipelines on AAA productions.

This is a freelance position, starting no earlier than June 2026, available on-site in Warsaw or remotely.

Requirements


- Strong Senior-level animation skills.
- Experience In AAA productions and motion capture animation.
- Proven experience with MetaHuman technology in production.
- Excellent knowledge of Maya.
- Strong understanding of anatomy - how physics affects objects and character movement.
- Solid knowledge of animation principles and an eye for dynamic poses.
- Experience with facial animation - the ability to convey the subtleties of facial expressions.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Ability to lead a team of animators.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback on animation work.
- Familiarity with ShotGrid (now Flow) is a plus.

Responsibilities


- Lead a team of animators, staying in daily contact and providing ongoing support.
- Participate in cross-team meetings with the Project Supervisor and other Leads.
- Review animators’ work and provide feedback (mainly via ShotGrid / Flow).
- Maintain animation quality - ensure anatomical correctness and help animators push their work to a higher level.
- Maintain technical quality - solve daily technical issues and ensure compliance with the animation pipeline.
- Ensure animation aligns with the director’s brief and client expectations.
- Collaborate closely with Animation Team Lead, Animation Supervisor, Project Supervisor, Project Coordinator, Producer, Team Manager, and other departments when needed (e.g., previz, rigging, cloth simulation).
- Stay aware of schedule and animation bids, including deliveries and deadlines.
- Demonstrate key qualities: communication, responsiveness, accuracy, reliability, and the ability to work comfortably within a structured pipeline.
