Platige Image is on the lookout for talented Lighting/Rendering Artists across various levels of seniority — Mid-level, Seniors and Leads. If you have a keen eye for balance, light, and color, and are passionate about contributing to high-end VFX projects, then we’d love to hear from you. Below are the details of what we're looking for at each level. 

We are looking for candidates located in or willing to relocate to Gran Canaria as well as cooperate on a B2B contract.



Mid-level Lighting/Rendering Artist

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Create compelling lighting that set up the mood, tells a story, and makes a coherent world.

  • Deconstruct lighting and textures in a physically based renderer to establish appropriate color correct values.

  • Keep the artistic style consistent with the defined visual style for the project.

  • Ensure lighting is optimal and technically correct.

  • Analyze the scene for performance issues, ensure all lights are as optimal as possible.

  • Keep up to date on modern trends in real-time rendering and art asset production, and serve as a technical resource and consultant for the entire team.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Min. 2 years of professional experience as the Lighting/Rendering Artist in a CGI/VFX industry, or game dev.

  • Very good knowledge of Maya and render engines (preferably Arnold or Redshift).

  • Good knowledge of direct and indirect light, luminance, and color theory.

  • Outstanding creativity and a very strong commitment to a project.

  • Good attitude towards receiving feedback and exchanging knowledge.

  • Good knowledge of English is required.

Additionally Scored:

  • Good knowledge of Houdini and Nuke.

  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine or willingness to learn this engine.




Senior Lighting/Rendering Artist

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Art Director from the very early stages of the project, to set up a compelling and coherent look that set up the mood and tells a story.

  • Improve base lighting rigs by sequence/shot, to keep integrity between different camera angles and situations.

  • Analyze the scene for performance issues, ensure all lights are as optimal as possible.

  • Keep up to date on modern trends in real-time rendering and art asset production, serving as a technical and artistic resource and consultant for the entire team.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the role of Look Development/Lighting Artist in a CGI/VFX industry.

  • Great knowledge of Maya with render engines (preferably Arnold, VRay, or Redshift) and a strong understanding of physically based rendering.

  • Expert level understanding and knowledge of lighting techniques and experience in lighting photorealistic environments and characters with a portfolio that showcases your skills.

  • Outstanding creativity and a very strong commitment to a project.

  • Good attitude towards receiving feedback and exchanging knowledge.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Good knowledge of English is required.

Additionally Scored:

Lead Lighting/Rendering Artist

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Lead the lighting and rendering team in the creation of visually stunning, photorealistic scenes.

  • Define the lighting style and ensure consistency across all shots and sequences.

  • Collaborate closely with environment, shading, compositing, and other departments to maintain a cohesive visual language.

  • Oversee and contribute to the rendering pipeline to ensure efficient and high-quality output.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in lighting, rendering, and visual effects.

  • Provide mentorship, feedback, and support to artists within the team.

  • Maintain a strong sense of storytelling and cinematic composition through lighting.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in lighting and rendering for high-end VFX or cinematic productions.

  • Solid understanding of rendering engines (e.g., Arnold, V-Ray, Redshift) and DCC tools (e.g., Maya, Houdini).

  • Experience leading or mentoring other artists in a production environment.

  • A strong eye for detail, color, composition, and mood.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills—you’re just as comfortable talking to a teammate as you are fine-tuning a shader.

  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
