Job openings Head of Technology – Poland
For our Swiss fintech partner, we are looking for a Head of Technology to build and lead their new engineering hub in Warsaw. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll shape the local technical direction, stay close to the code and infrastructure, and work directly with the founders and tech leadership across Switzerland and Finland.
As the first hire in Poland, you’ll help build the engineering team, hire future developers and DevOps engineers, and shape the local culture. The Warsaw hub will focus on DevOps and infrastructure, payment infrastructure, and partner integrations.
Our partner is a fast-growing Swiss fintech building an all-in-one financial platform for SMEs, combining banking, payments, invoicing, accounting and payroll in one product. They are now expanding into Poland and building their Warsaw technology hub.
What We Value
We’re a lean, direct and human team that values speed, clarity, ownership and trust. We’re looking for people who take initiative, solve problems, speak up when it matters and work independently while keeping the bigger picture in mind - supported by modern tools and AI such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor to help us move faster and build better.

Proven experience in technical leadership, ideally in fintech, banking, payments or another regulated environment, or in SaaS.
10+ years of professional, hands-on technical experience.
Strong background in AWS cloud infrastructure, security architecture and DevOps practice.
Genuinely hands-on: able to both lead and personally contribute to configuration, infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
Solid Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience for provisioning and managing AWS environments.
Practical, hands-on experience with Kubernetes (ideally AWS EKS), Helm and Argo CD, working in a GitOps model.
Good grasp of monitoring, incident response and operational security.
Experience coordinating a team and contributing to hiring and staffing decisions.
Good grasp of monitoring, incident response and operational security.
Comfortable evaluating code and architecture in modern backend stacks (e.g. TypeScript/Kotlin).
Excellent communication in English - the working language across all of the company's offices.
Entrepreneurial and adaptable, comfortable in a fast-moving, early-stage environment, and willing to work on-site to build the team and its culture in person.
Nice to have
Hands-on Kubernetes and container networking experience, ideally with Cilium or another CNI.
Experience with Cloudflare for edge security and access.
Familiarity with the wider technology stack: GitLab CI, and backend work in Java, Kotlin or TypeScript with NestJS.
Experience standing up or scaling an engineering team or a new office.
Key responsibilities
Build and lead the Warsaw technical team, giving direction and mentorship while staying hands-on with configuration, infrastructure and DevOps.
Own the cloud infrastructure and security architecture for the hub's scope, keeping it scalable, resilient and secure, on AWS (EKS) with Terraform as the infrastructure-as-code standard.
Define and drive CI/CD and DevOps practice: GitOps-based pipelines and deployments (Helm, Argo CD), automation, environments and developer experience.
Set the local technical direction and reference architecture, and keep it aligned with the group's vision, roadmap and standards.
Act as the bridge between HQ, product and the engineers in Warsaw, translating high-level goals into concrete work - while ensuring Warsaw has real ownership and decision-making autonomy within the agreed architecture and company standards.
Run day-to-day delivery for the team: coordination, planning and input on staffing and project-level decisions - and be accountable for what the team delivers.
Monitor system health for the hub's scope and act as the first line of response for incidents, escalating major decisions to HQ.
Handle vendor interactions for cloud and security topics, bringing significant choices back to the group for validation.
Help recruit and grow the Warsaw hub, from a small founding team toward around fifteen (+) engineers over the next two years, working with HQ and the recruitment partner - including participating directly in technical interviews for future hires.
Handle day-to-day people matters for the Warsaw team (leave approvals, performance conversations) in coordination with HQ.
Act as the day-to-day point of contact on technology matters relating to the company's Polish operations, including occasional engagement with the local financial regulator where needed - with overall regulatory supervision remaining with Switzerland.
Evaluate new technologies, uphold engineering quality and governance, and help shape the longer-term technical roadmap.
